Jackie Cabalka graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and then earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy from UC San Francisco. She went on to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in Nebraska. Jackie is also certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. In 2006, Jackie completed a certification in Pilates for rehabilitation through Polestar education, and is a certified Pilates instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance. Pilates changed her approach to physical therapy intervention and she found that Pilates provided a logical whole-body approach to addressing movement dysfunction. The combination of Pilates and a diverse mix of manual therapy techniques have provided her with a wide variety of tools for addressing injury, postural malalignment and movement difficulty. Jackie has a passion for health and wellness that carries over in to all that she does. Her goal as a physical therapist is to share that passion with others and enable their return to ease of movement and the activities that bring them joy.
Jackie has 3 grown children, 2 sons here in Eugene and a daughter who is currently deployed to the Middle East. She stays active through Pilates, cycling, hiking and skiing with her fiancé and partner in life, Willy.
